RECIPE FOR SUCCESS (MAMA'S SOUS CHEF)

A sous chef is the second in command in a kitchen. In French, the term literally means “under chef,” and this individual is an important part of the restaurant he or she works in, ensuring that everything runs smoothly whether or not the head chef is present - thewisegeek.org

I'm going to take us down memory lane.

Remember one time you
were assisting mama in the kitchen and she asked for pepper, so you brought them whole (i.e without grinding them) and the conversation went thus:

MAMA:  "Don't you have common sense? am I supposed to put in the pepper whole like that?"
YOU: Sorry mommy. *grinds the peppers and brings it to mama*
MAMA: I wonder why you can't use your common sense. Bring it jor.


Fast forward 3 days later.

MAMA: Bring me pepper.
YOU: *Grinds pepper* Here it is ma.
MAMA: Anh anh! who told you to grind it? You should've asked me first! I wanted to roast them whole and pound them with the egusi, now you've ruined my soup.
YOU: But mommy you told me to always grind the pepper before handing it over to you.
MAMA: So you're telling me I'm stupid abi?
YOU: But.............



Well, all she was trying to do was teach you how to take initiative.

If you must succeed in the entertainment industry, you must learn how to take initiative.

 

 Initiative activates your talent -John Maxwell.

 

After you have discovered yourself and developed passion for what you do, you must activate your career. It might mean taking that first step to open a Facebook account, or walking up to that production manager to put you in his line up, or approaching that producer to work for him for free or trading your expensive hair for a guitar. You must take that first step to activate your career.

 

It may look/sound difficult but you can do it. The worst you can get is a NO but you would never know if you could get a yes if you didn't try.

 

Take that bold step. Take the initiative to write to me and I just might be able to help you in finding that first step to activating your entertainment career.
