RECIPE FOR SUCCESS (THE STORY OF A BUTCHER)
One time I went to a market in Lagos to buy live chicken. A young boy (obviously a hustler) approached me that he could help me slaughter and butcher my chicken for N200, I obliged. Then the guy
proceeded to slaughter the chicken; obviously he was inexperienced as he practically fought with the chicken which put up a good fight up till its last breath. It was a messy situation and but to be fair it takes courage to slaughter an animal. I even had to direct him on how to butcher the chicken.
I'm weird, I know. I can slaughter and butcher a chicken like a professional. I actually love doing it. (Buzz me if you want some butcher services. LOL)
We all enjoy eating meat, eh? But have we ever thought of the heroes who take the courage to slaughter these animals? I'm probably going to get a backlash for talking about animal brutality like this from vegetarians and animal rights activists (i.e if they exist in Africa. Yimu).
Well, meat is good for the body and someone might as well slaughter the animals, yeah? For dog lovers, the dog's head has to be practically pounded to kill it. With its br....Okay, I'm going to stop here.
But, what about the fishes and sea food we all enjoy? You do realise someone had to risk their lives to catch them for us right?
You do realise that if everyone out of fear refused to fish or slaughter animals for us, we wouldn't have the pleasure of eating meat and would ultimately lack some basic nutrients plants can't offer, right?
Are you scared of the unknown? Are you scared your talent may not be appreciated because it's different? You need to be courageous and succeed. Your world needs the benefits of your talent. It's a tough industry, especially as a gospel artiste. You may be coming up with a sound different from the norm and you're scared whether the church will accept or not. You have to try anyway. Remember ACQUIRED TASTE?
You can make them love your music if you believe in it. You can make them acquire a taste for your music. You just need to be courageous. Remember the world needs your music just like we need meat and fish. Everytime you're feeling discouraged, think of what life would be like if we didn't have grilled fish, suya or barbecued chicken.
You need courage to succeed in the entertainment industry and in life generally.
