So, I decided to start celebrating one artiste every week from now till further notice. Lol. This week I've decided to celebrate Andy Mineo and I'm going to give you some amazing fun facts about him. Since he's the first in the series, he gets to be celebrated till next week Saturday before another artiste succeeds him on Sunday. We're going to post one song of his alongside the post for the day everyday he's being celebrated. So, here we go.
FUN FACTS ABOUT ANDY MINEO
He's a Christian hip hop artiste, producer, TV and music video director from New York city.
He was formerly known as C-Lite and is originally from Syracuse. To be honest I'm not sure whether it's Syracuse in Italy or Syracuse in New York. What do you think?
He enrolled in the music program at City College of New York (CCNY). So, aspiring artistes, you need to be educated. Even hip hop artistes study music. It was during his time there he discovered that there were actually Christians who did hip hop and he got to know about such communities online where he eventually met Alex Medina who helped him find his sound and style.
He's signed to reach records, founded by Lecrae.
He has run a web series called Saturday Morning Cartunez for 3 seasons
He has released one mixtape, one EP and two albums.
He released his latest album Uncomfortable last month, Sept 18th. I've featured one of the songs on the album here before. Click here to listen.
He's married so, ladies, you better not crush on him. Lol.
He was a pastor but because of his busy schedule, decided to be a deacon... Yes you heard me right, he was a pastor but is now a deacon by choice.
I've decided not to put in all the details here so you can get the chance to research about him on your own. You can check out his website www.andymineo.com. I hope you draw inspiration from his life and his artistry. If you're an aspiring Christian hip hop artiste, know that you can make it in this space. Study the guys doing Christian hip hop in America today, they put up a good fight and today they're having results. Don't lose hope and keep building yourself. Your opportunity is going to come someday, be prepared.
